Maintaining The Indian River, Michigan, Snowmobile Trails

Indian River Snowmobile Trail Grooming

The Indian River Snowmobile Grooming Club maintains 56 miles of trail running through the Northwest Lower Lake Effect Snow Belt and tends to have more average snowfall than most areas. From the old rail grade along side the Sturgeon River to the winding hardwood hills to the west, it is one of the most scenic trails in Northern Michigan. We groom 6 days a week (weather permitting) through the season with experienced volunteer operators and keep the trails in top shape at all times. Even between seasons the work continues with brushing, signing, clearing, grading the trails, and filing ongoing paperwork with the DNR. We thank all our volunteers and ask that everyone help support the trails we use with a membership to our Club.
Enjoy the ride, give the groomers some room, and ride safe!
